KSDK -- The Illinois State Fire Marshall is investigating a fire that took multiple lives in the small town of Cairo.
The fire broke out in a home in the 600 block of 37th Street today.
The Illinois State Police are also investigating.
Authorities called their investigation preliminary, and did not comment on how many lives were lost in the fire.
