KSDK -- A Jefferson County man pleaded guilty to disposing of hazardous waste in St. Francois County.

According to court documents, in January 2009, 35-year-old Robert Frost entered into an agreement with Complete Roofing Company, Inc. to dispose of approximately sixty 55-gallon drums containing roofing waste from the Complete Roofing facility in Imperial, Missouri, at a cost of $10 per drum. Approximately 26 of the drums were too full to scrap.

Frost illegally transported and disposed of these 26 drums, some of which contained hazardous waste, on an abandoned home site located on Highway Y in French Village.

Frost, of Imperial, pleaded guilty to one felony count of illegal disposal of hazardous waste.

He now faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000. Sentencing has been set for February 5, 2009.
