KSDK -- The Big Bend Boulevard bridge over Interstate 64 will open to traffic by evening rush on Friday.
MoDOT District Engineer Ed Hassinger, St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, Richmond Heights officials and Kindergarten students from the Little Flower School will celebrate the reopening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
The opening is eight days ahead of schedule for the bridge, which closed for reconstruction on June 1, 2009.
The ceremony will be held in the southeast corner of the new bridge, closest to Dale Avenue. Striping crews will be performing the final striping on the bridge during the ceremony so parking will be restricted.
