Paul Sweitzer charged with sexual assault; search for second suspect continues

KSDK -- The Madison County Sheriff's Department is searching for a second suspect in a sexual assault case.

Paul M. Sweitzer, 27, of Collinsville, was charged with armed robbery and aggravated criminal sexual assault, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Department. 

Investigators said Sweitzer and another man were accused of forcing themselves into a woman's car in the 8400 block of Collinsville Road in Collinsville at 3:00 a.m. on Monday. Investigators said they made her drive to a second location where they robbed her and she was sexually assaulted by at least one of the two suspects. One of the suspects was armed.

Sweitzer was taken into custody by Madison County Sheriff's Office investigators on Wednesday and was jailed in Madison County. He was being held on a $150,000 bond.
