KSDK -- The Webster Groves football team is working to keep its perfect record and a win Friday against Parkway North will take the team to the state tournament.
All eyes will be on the Webster Groves Statesman, including those of their cross-town rival, the Kirkwood Pioneers.
This Thanksgiving will mark the 102nd Turkey Day Game, but ironically, the two teams taking the field Thursday are still undetermined. When your hometown team is 11 and 0 -- it shows.
In the halls of Webster Groves High School, the impromptu pep rally erupts between classes. But what happens on that field Friday night will decide what happens on the field next Thursday for the Turkey Day Game.
A Webster win will make the annual Turkey Day Game a battle between the school's junior varsity teams because the varsity team will be prepping for state. But when a game has a hundred year history, tradition sometimes beats triumph.
For most fans, the scenario is better than no game at all; two towns, two possible outcomes, a tradition for one community.
Webster won last year's Turkey Day game.
Kirkwood is already adding extra bleachers to accommodate the crowds.
