KSDK -- The St. Louis County Department of Health will be offering another set of free H1N1 vaccinations to county residents in December.
The increased vaccine supply will result in 15,000 doses being distributed to the public via five sites in the county. Shots and nasal spray versions of the vaccine will be administered based on what is medically appropriate for each patient.
Five priority groups are being targeted for the December 5 vaccination event:
--Pregnant women
--Children ages six months to 24 years
--Caregivers of and those who live with infants under the age of six months
--Adults from 25 years through 64 years of age with underlying health condition that makes them susceptible to flu complications
--Emergency medical service personnel and healthcare workers
Children 10 and under are required to receive two doses of the vaccine, spaced at least four weeks apart. Kids older than 10 and adults require only one dose.
People in these categories who want to receive the vaccine must obtain a line ticket from one of the five clinical locations prior to being admitted. Line tickets will be available at each location starting at 7 a.m. The vaccinations will be given between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The vaccinations are for residents of St. Louis County. Proof of residency may be required at the clinics, such as a driver's license or a utility bill.
