KSDK -- Twenty homes in a Manchester subdivision were without water service after a watermain break Wednesday afternoon.
According to Ann Dettmer with Missouri American Water, the break occurred some time around 1:20 p.m. at Briarhurst and Glenn Mill drives.
Dettmer said the watermain sustained an eight inch break. Crews were able to restore water utility services to customers by 5:30 p.m. Some homes were damaged as a result, but residents are working with their insurance companies.
The pipe that broke is about 40-years-old, Dettmer said.
