KSDK -- The needy in St. Louis are getting a chance to pick out free gifts as the holidays approach.

The free store opened at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the New Life Evangelistic Center at 1411 Locust Street in downtown St. Louis.

The poor and elderly can come to the store and pick out free items. It's stocked with donated clothes, food, toys, household items and other Christmas gifts.

Reverend Larry Rice said he hopes the store will stay open through the holiday season as long as the store has enough donations.

Anyone who wants to donate items can bring them to the center. People are encouraged to call ahead at 314-421-3020.
