KSDK -- A St. Charles county business owner helped turn a few dents into an O'Fallon, Missouri woman's dream car and saved his employee's jobs at the same time -- all with one raffle ticket.
Business at White Auto Body in O'Fallon had never been since the last few months. Owner Steve White decided to jumpstart business by raffling off his own Porsche Carrera.
Since August, White collected customers' names in a raffle box and in doing so gained more business. On Wednesday, he picked a winner: 21-year-old Maddi McCurdy.
Although it was tough for White to give his car away, he said it was more important to keep his 22 employees.
"The decisions I make affect 22 families," White said. "This car doesn't matter as much as having a good Christmas and the 22 families having a job all year."
McCurdy did not get to take the car home just yet. The car has a manual transmission and McCurdy cannot drive a stick, but of course, she's willing to learn.
