KSDK -- What should be done with more than $1 million worth of handheld computers? That's a question the Jennings School Board says it will answer at Monday night's school board meeting.
The district purchased 2,500 Palm computers nearly three years ago, but most of the computers remained in storage, used only in a few classrooms.
Now the life cycle for the devices is just about over so about 300 of them will be sold to a recycling company, some will be given away for free to graduating seniors over the next three years.
Officials won't announce until this evening what will happen to the majority of the computers.
A Missouri state audit blasted the district for not properly coordinating the computer program last year.
