
KSDK -- A 19-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for the beating and strangulation death of an 89-year-old St. Louis woman.
James Thomas pleaded guilty last week to second-degree murder, burglary, auto theft and armed criminal action.
Ira Reese was found beaten and strangled with a telephone cord inside his home in the 4400 block of Ashland Avenue in October 2007.
Thomas was ordered to serve four concurrent life terms.
His brother, Louis Wallace, 26, pleaded guilty to the same charges in the case and was sentenced to life in prison.
