Mock crash involving Lutheran North students sends message to school

KSDK -- Two crashed cars and emergency crews were brought to Lutheran North High School to teach students a valuable lesson before prom.

Emergency crews and school officials surprised the students with a mock DWI crash in the parking lot of the school at Lucas and Hunt Road.

One of students played the part of the drunk driver and three others were people injured in the crash.

An accident reconstruction team was also brought out to evaluate the speed of the crash and develop a case.

The students that participated in the mock crash were not allowed to attend  classes the rest of the day to help other students realize what it is like to lose a classmate.
