Water main break on Laveta Avenue at Princeton Place in Richmond Heights.
Water main break in the 5700 block of West Park in south St. Louis
St. Louis (KSDK) -- Two water main breaks are causing some early-morning headaches for drivers and workers.
A water main broke at the intersection of Laveta Avenue and Princeton Place in Richmond Heights before 4:00 a.m. Wednesday. A police officer in the area spotted the break while passing by on patrol.
At one point, water from the break was shooting about ten feet into the air. No word yet how this will affect water service in that area later in the day.
A spokesperson with Missouri American Water said crews were working to get the break capped.
A water main break caused a mess but did not interrupt traffic in south St. Louis Wednesday morning.
City officials said the main that break in the 5700 block of West Park is a private line that runs into a nearby building and they were working on tracking down the owner of the business so it could be handled.
Water to other nearby buildings do not appear to be affected.
