DuQuoin, Ill (KSDK) - Illinois State Police special agents are investigating the death of a 19-year-old inmate at the Perry County Jail.
Jail workers found Carl Dane dead in his cell Friday morning, according to police.
Dane was scheduled to be transferred today to the Menard Correctional center to serve a 60-year sentence for the 2010 murder of Sidnee Stephens, of Pinckeyville.
Police said they do not suspect foul play.
