(KSDK) - A Laclede Cab driver died this morning after crashing his taxi into a tree.
Police have identified the cab driver as Odise Reece, 48, of the 2900 block of Wintergreen in Florissant.
Just before 4 a.m. Reece was driving northbound in the 2100 block of S. Jefferson when his vehicle crossed the southbound lanes and struck the tree.
Reece died a short time later at a local hospital. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Investigators have not determined why Reece's cab crossed the southbound lanes.
