Bedford Heights, OH (WJW/CNN) - This is just "unbearable."
There's no word on what caused this black bear to scurry up a tree in Bedford Heights, Ohio, but it sure wasn't coming down for police Tuesday morning.
Firefighters tried spraying the bear with water from the ground to get it to climb down.
When that didn't work, they raised the ladder on the fire truck and hosed the bear from above.
The bear still wouldn't budge.
Authorities cleared out spectators and were re-evaluating their tactics as of noon local time.
They want the bear to climb down on its own, rather than tranquilizing it.
If and when the bear does come down, residents are asked to leave it alone.
