St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A man living in a four family flat in north St. Louis was taken to the hospital for observation after a fire in the building overnight.
Firefighters responded to the home in the 5200 block of Wabada and found fire on the second floor of the structure. Residents were already evacuating when authorities arrived on scene, with the exception of the man firefighters rescued.
It was believe the fire may have started in the injured victims unit of the building, although the fire is not considered suspicious.
Fire damage to the building was minimal, although smoke and water issues were significant.
