Rome, Italy (NBC) -- Defying threats of legal action by Britain's royal family, an Italian magazine published a multi-page spread of Kate Middleton sun tanning topless in France.
The Italian gossip magazine, owned by former Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi, published 26 pages of the controversial photos.
The move comes days after a French tabloid first published the images. That tabloid is also owned by Berlusconi's publishing house.
Lawyers for the royal family are expected to be in a Paris court today to seek legal action against the magazine.
