(KSDK) -- Many of us have a great interest in our family history, but local author Jim Merkel's curiosity went a step further.
     
His curiosity resulted in a fascinating book about St. Louis's German heritage. It's called "Beer, Brats and Baseball."

If you'd like to meet Jim, he'll be signing his book at the German/American Day celebration at the German Cultural Society Hall at 3652 S. Jefferson Saturday.
