Video: Stretch of I-64 dedicated to Uhl sisters

Jessic and Kelli Uhl

O'FALLON, IL (KSDK) - A stretch of Interstate 64 in Illinois was re-named Monday in memory of Kelli and Jessica Uhl.

A dedication ceremony was held Monday morning for the dedication of the new memorial. Signs were posted near Route 158 and Route 4 along the highway.

That stretch of I-64 in St. Clair County is now known as the 'Jessica and Kelli Uhl Memorial Highway.'

The teenage sisters were killed the day after Thanksgiving in 2007 when former Illinois State Trooper Matt Mitchell crashed into their car.

Authorities say Mitchell was driving more than 120 miles per hour and using his cell phone when he slammed into the Uhl sisters' car.
