Edwardsville, IL (KSDK) - Many of the issues discussed Tuesday night during the second presidential debate are extremely important to young Americans.
NewsChannel 5's Grant Bissell watched the debate with students at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to get their take on the debate. Some of the topics mentioned include job creation, gas prices, and women's healthcare.
For many of these students, this is the biggest election of their young lives, and interestingly enough most have already decided who they'll vote for in just a few short weeks.
NewsChannel 5 talked to one student who told said he watched the debate simply to further educate himself on the politics that are dominating this campaign year.
He said it's important to him as he gets ready to enter the post-college world.
Something a lot of the students noticed was the testiness between the two candidates. That's something we saw a little of during the first debate but it really came out Tuesday night.
One student says the tension does not take away from the spirit of the debate, it's a great look at who the candidates are as people, and he said he can't wait to see how they handle each other in the third debate.
