Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Raheem Appleby scored a career-high 34 points
as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs dismissed the Georgia State Panthers, 86-68, in
non-conference action at GSU Sports Arena.
Appleby made 14-of-19 from the field and added seven rebounds for Louisiana
Tech (7-1), which has won seven in a row since losing its opener. Kenneth
Smith tallied 15 points and six assists, and Cordarius Johnson netted 14
points.
For Georgia State (3-4), R.J. Hunter put up 23 points, seven rebounds and four
steals, while Manny Atkins and Devonta White scored 13 points apiece.
Louisiana Tech shot 54.5 percent from the field in the first half, compared to
just 33.3 percent for Georgia State, as the Bulldogs took a 44-30 advantage
into intermission.
The game was never in doubt after halftime, as Louisiana Tech led by as many
as 28.
The Bulldogs outrebounded the Panthers, 45-36.
