Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks lost their final six
games of 2012, but once the calendar turned to 2013, they got back on the
winning track.
Vince Carter led six Mavs players in double figures with 23 points on 9-of-14
shooting as Dallas posted a 103-94 victory over the Washington Wizards on
Tuesday at Verizon Center.
O.J. Mayo netted 15 points and handed out five assists, while Darren Collison
donated 15 points and eight assists for the Mavs, who shot 50 percent from the
floor. Chris Kaman scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Sean
Marion gave a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Dirk Nowitzki contributed 11 points in a 17-minute run off the bench in the
triumph.
Bradley Beal scored a team-high 22 points and Emeka Okafor donated 14 points
and 11 boards for the Wizards, who blew a 14-point second-quarter lead and
lost for the 10th time in their last 11 games.
Martell Webster added 14 and six rebounds in the setback.
