ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - Charges have been filed against a man for the robbery of a Country Club Hills supermarket.

Adam G. Willoughby, 20, has been charged with one count of first-degree attempted robbery.

Police say they were called to Mally's Supermarket in the 7400 block of West Florissant Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police say Willoughby entered the store, jumped the counter, and demanded money.

Authorities say the clerk of the store shot Willoughby.

He was taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

A cash-only bond has been set at $100,000.

KSDK
