Dayton, OH (Sports Network) - Gary Talton scored 18 points for the Illinois-
Chicago Flames, who defeated the Wright State Raiders, 55-49, in a Horizon
League matchup at the Nutter Center.
Talton shot 11-of-14 from the free-throw line and added six rebounds and five
assists for the Flames (13-8, 4-4 Horizon), who have won two in a row and
earned their first road win in conference play. Josh Crittle chipped in 11
points in the triumph.
Wright State (14-7, 5-3) had just one player in double-digit scoring, as Cole
Darling scored 11 points, albeit on just 5-of-15 from the field. Reggie
Arceneaux couldn't get anything going as he shot 1-of-12 from the field, which
included misses on all seven of his 3-point attempts.
The Raiders shot just 23.8 percent from the field in the first half and
trailed 26-14 heading into the break.
Wright State outscored UIC 35-29 in the second half but was unable to complete
the comeback as it shot just 1-of-10 from long-range after intermission.
The Flames were 20-of-26 from the charity stripe, while the Raiders shot just
11-of-13.
