EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KSDK) - East St. Louis, Illinois has recorded its third homicide this year.

The body of a 29-year-old female was found shot in the head on 15th Street, north of Belmont Avenue Tuesday morning.

Chief Floore with the East St. Louis Police Department says the victim is a known street walker, but they do not have a motive or suspect at this time.

Capt. Jim Morrissey with Illinois State Police says they are now assisting East St. Louis with the investigation.

A neighbor says the area in which the body was found is usually quiet.
