LAS VEGAS (KSNV/NBC) - A massive new resort is in the works for the Las Vegas Strip.
The Genting Group, a Malaysian based multinational company, plans to spend $7 billion to build the 3,500 room Asian-themed resort.
The project known as "Resort World Las Vegas" will take over the former Stardust casino site.
The Stardust was closed to make room for a new casino known as "Echelon," but that project stalled and eventually failed.
Genting hopes to break ground later this year.
