FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office have called off a search at Meramec State Park after a ranger received a missing person's call the day before.
According to the sheriff's office, the park ranger received a call around 5:30 p.m. Monday from someone stating they watched a vehicle enter the Meramec River near Meramec State Park.
The witness, described as a white female with short dark hair driving a four-door white Chevrolet Malibu, made the report with park rangers but was unable to later be located. A park ranger described the woman as also having two young children in the car.
Park rangers were unable to find the vehicle and contacted the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. A search of the area did not find any vehicle in the water.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is asking for the witness who contacted the park ranger or any other witnesses to the incident to immediately call them at 636-583-2560.
