Suspicious incident reported at Washington, Mo. school

WASHINGTON, Mo. – The police chief of Washington, Mo. is warning residents about a suspicious incident that happened Thursday while elementary school children were playing at recess.

Chief Kenneth W. Hahn says around 12:15 p.m. a woman in a gold or bronze four-door vehicle parked on the street side of a fence along St. Francis Borgia Grade School. She had two children inside her vehicle.

Second and third grade students were playing at recess and told a teacher on duty the woman was encouraging her kids to give candy through the fence to the kids playing at recess. The teacher brought everyone inside the school, and no outdoor activities were allowed for the remainder of the day.

Hahn says nobody was injured, and though there was no attempt to lure kids anywhere, extra attention will be paid to the area to try and locate the woman.
