Taste of St. Louis 2014 moves to Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – The annual Taste of St. Louis will be headed west this summer.

The Taste of St. Louis 2014 will be held in Chesterfield's Central Park and Chesterfield Amphitheater, September 19-21, which will mark the first time it moves away from downtown St. Louis.

According to a spokesperson for the event, the festival will focus on food and attracting more mainstream network chefs and restaurants.

The amphitheater would also allow for admission tickets to be sold and checked, which would help with revenue to attract bigger names, according to the spokesperson.

The festival organizers hope the Taste of St. Louis becomes a bigger draw for the region.

No further information was immediately available.

Moving the event from downtown to west county will no doubt create much longer travel times for some city and county residents who frequent the festival. NewsChannel 5 staffers picked five points in the St. Louis area and charted travel routes for car and bus using Google Maps (one-way only).
