Two-alarm blaze burns St. Charles apartments

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) – A two-alarm fire broke out at an apartment complex in St. Charles.

According to Red Cross spokesperson Peggy Barnhart, the fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. in the kitchen of a unit at the Courtyard Studio Apartments.

St. Charles Fire Department along with Cottleville, Pattonville and Central County Fire and Rescue assisted the call.

The Red Cross helped three families with food, water and shelter, while three others declined assistance. The organization has not been able to speak to eight other affected families.

No other affected residents were home, and no injuries reported.
