Wentzville School District implements 'snow schedule days'

WENTZVILLE, Mo. – The Wentzville School District is adding a delayed start or "snow schedule day" option immediately as an alternative to closing schools for the entire day in the event of inclement weather.

The delayed start of two hours would be implemented in certain situations, including if snow accumulates overnight or a substantial wind chill is expected.

If a delayed start is called, morning buses will pick students up two hours later than the regular time, but dismissal would be at the normal time. The breakfast option and lunch periods will still occur. Parents and guardians will be notified using the usual school closing notification systems.

Quail Ridge Early Childhood Center would not have morning classes if there is a delayed start. Afternoon classes would go on as normal.

Days with a delayed start will count as full-attendance days and not need to be made up like snow days.
