Man shot in Soulard neighborhood

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Police found a 36-year-old man with gunshot wounds late Wednesday in the Soulard neighborhood. Two men have been arrested in connection to the shooting.

At around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call regarding a shooting near Geyer Avenue and Menard Street. When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old man who had been shot. No word yet on his condition.

A 43-year-old man was arrested near the crime scene, and officers also initiated a search for a second suspect – a 28-year-old man who had already fled by the time police arrived.

Three hours later, police arrested the second man in the 6400 block of Colletta in the Clifton Hills neighborhood. Police also recovered a weapon.

Initially, police responded to the Colletta address after receiving a tip that a person had been shot there, however, this was not the case and the wanted man has been taken into custody.

No names have been released for the suspects or the victim. A motive has also not been established.

No additional information was immediately available.
