Missing Pulaski County boy found safe in Ohio

GALION, Ohio (KSDK) – The 4-year-old Pulaski County boy whose disappearance prompted a multi-state search was surrendered to authorities by his biological father shortly after midnight Sunday.

The suspect – 30-year-old Christopher Wetherall – was taken into custody at approximately 6 a.m.

Webb's mother, Amber Edgison, contacted authorities with suspicions that Wetherall had kidnapped her son. Initially, she had tasked Wetherall with caring for Webb while she was in Army Basic Training.

When Edgison tried to have a family member watch Webb instead, Wetherall stopped talking to her.

Wetherall is neither the biological nor custodial parent of her son, Edgison told police. He has been charged with child kidnapping, and his currently being held in Ohio on a $250,000 bond.

It is not believed that Webb's father – who lives in Ohio -- played a role in his kidnapping, and no criminal charges are expected to be filed against him.
