Man arrested in death of missing Arizona girl

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Police have made an arrest in the death of an 8-year-old Arizona girl reported missing from her home and confirmed that her body has been found.

Police in Bullhead City said Thursday that a body found near the home is that of Isabella "Bella" Grogan-Cannella. They say a shallow grave was discovered Wednesday by a search and rescue team.

Early Thursday, authorities arrested Justin James Rector of Bullhead City on suspicion of kidnapping and first-degree murder. Police have not said how Isabella died. They planned to release more details at a news conference later Thursday.

Isabella's family had reported her missing early Tuesday after she couldn't be found in the home. They live in Bullhead City, which is on the Arizona-Nevada border some 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
