ORLANDO, Fla. -- The grandmother of a missing 2-year-old central Florida girl said Monday her daughter knows who has the toddler.

Speaking on NBC's "Today Show", Cindy Anthony said her daughter Casey -- who was arrested last week and charged with child neglect and criminal obstruction for lying to detectives -- should be released from jail so she can help with the investigation into the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony.

"I know Casey knows who has her," Cindy Anthony told NBC. "I know Casey doesn't know where they're at right at the moment. But I don't know anything else right now because I can't speak to my daughter. And we're trying to get that changed very quickly."

Casey Anthony, 22, reported her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony missing last week. The little girl's grandmother says Caylee was last seen June 9. Authorities say the child's mother has repeatedly lied to investigators and showed little emotion during interviews about her daughter's whereabouts.

"She didn't seem to be concerned," Orange County Deputy Sheriff Carlos Padilla told "Good Morning America" on Monday.

On Fox News, Cindy Anthony said Casey has been trying to tell authorities "in her own way what she can" about the toddler's whereabouts.

Casey Anthony's lawyer told the Today Show that "there's an explanation for all of this."

Sheriff's detectives say they have few new leads. Authorities are looking into the family's latest claims that Casey Anthony received a mysterious call from her daughter last Tuesday, but aren't hopeful that the information will lead to solving the case.

"We really don't have any leads to follow up on this call," said Padilla.

An Orange County sheriff's department spokesman did not immediately return a call Monday from The Associated Press.
