NBC -- What was supposed to be a highlight of a Labor Day event in Hooper, Utah turned out to be nightmare Monday.

A powered parachute that was flying over the event to drop candy to the kids encountered some unexpected winds.

One witness said it looked like a bowling ball hitting the crowd.

Six people, including several children, were hurt.

Two girls were flown to a hospital while the four others were transported by ground.

Fortunately none of their injuries appear to be life threatening.

The pilot and his 17 year old passenger were not hurt.

The same aircraft flew over last year's event without incident.
