NBC -- A man found dead on a North Carolina beach over the weekend has been identified.
Police say sixty-year-old Richard Snead was the victim of a rare shark attack.
Neighbors say Snead decided to go for a late night swim last weekend, and was reported missing late Sunday.
His body was found Thursday on the shore of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.
The medical examiner says Snead died of extensive shark bites.
Officials say the beach was marked with warnings to stay out of the water because of dangerous conditions.
