Oakville home lights on fire after man hits it with car

OAKVILLE, Mo. (KSDK) – A man drove his car straight into the front of his home Saturday morning, hitting a gas meter and causing the two-story house to ignite, police say.

The man was not seriously injured, but he was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the crash, and the Bomb and Arson unit is on the scene.

The home is located at 321 Greycliff Bluff Drive. No other residents were inside when the fire started, but firefighters had to rescue a dog.

Neighbors are collecting donations for the family at the clubhouse on 160 Greycliff Manor.

No additional information was immediately available.
