O'Fallon police officer accused of stealing drugs

O'FALLON, Mo. (KSDK) - Sources tell News Channel 5 one police officer in O'Fallon, MO is under investigation for allegedly stealing -- possibly prescription -- drugs that were locked up at headquarters and marked as evidence.

At this time, it is not known if the allegations are for a one time offense or if it something more. The St. Charles County Prosecutor is aware of the investigation. But no charges have been filed. And the prosecutor says he is not commenting on the case until all the reports are in and he has had a chance to look at the evidence himself.

One source tells us the department has already suspended the officer while this investigation is underway, but NewsChannel 5 has not been able to confirm that information.

No one with the police department will comment on the case saying it is policy not to comment on any active investigation or any personnel matters.
