Parking at Fair STL? That'll be $30

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Three weeks after Fair St. Louis announced that it will ban on-street parking in Forest Park during the three day festival, officials have released a transportation plan detailing a combination of paid-for dedicated parking spots, shuttles and so-called "bike valets."

More than 50,000 people are expected to attend this year's fair. According to the plan, festival goers are encouraged to take public transportation – namely Metrolink – but they can also park at the 25,000 parking spots in and near Forest Park.

Those parking spots are priced based on their distance from the park, and premium lots cost $30. The zoo parking lot, according to organizers, will set its own parking rates.

Parking attendants and local police will direct traffic out of the park each night. A hard closing has been set for 10:30 p.m. to give officials 90 minutes to clear the park by their deadline.

Fair St. Louis says additional information about Park & Ride lots will be added to the website in several days.
