Police: Men stole marijuana from murder victim

MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) – Two St. Louis men have been charged with robbing and killing a 43-year-old Venice, Illinois man before leading police on a pursuit on both sides of the Mississippi River.

Turhan Robinson, 37, and Terrence Lee, 30, have each been charged with four counts of first degree murder, one count for attempted first degree murder and one count of armed robbery.

Lee was arrested on Saturday in an apartment complex in St. Louis and is in custody in the St. Louis County Jail. Authorities are still looking for Robison, who is considered armed and dangerous

Robinson is described as 5'9" and approximately 180 pounds and is believed to be driving a 1993 Oldsmobile Regency with Missouri license plate number KK1-V9K.

Witnesses discovered Kenneth Deal's body laying the intersection of 3rd Street and Washington Avenue on May 19. Police say Lee and Robinson shot Deal before stealing marijuana from him. Authorities do not believe that the suspects knew the victim.

Authorities say police started to pursue Robinson and Lee, who fired numerous shots at Madison County and Brooklyn, Illinois squad cars. No officers were injured and none of the vehicles were hit.

Bail for both Robinson and Lee has been set at $1 million.
