Police reports give details on Naperville slayings

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A suburban Chicago woman accused of repeatedly stabbing her 7-year-old son and a kindergartner she was babysitting told police hours later that she felt she was killing the devil, not the children, and that by doing so she was saving them.

Those statements are contained in 182 pages of police reports on last year's slayings.

The Naperville Sun obtained them

through the Freedom of Information Act.

Forty-one-year-old Elzbieta Plackowska has pleaded not guilty in the killings at a home in Naperville on Oct. 30 of last year. She remains jailed pending the start of her trial.

Detectives conducting initial interviews reported her saying that she "saw the devil" that day and "went crazy."

They say she also claimed she killed the children because she was angry with her husband.
