Police: Two shot, three men wanted in north city gunfight

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – An 18-year-old man is dead and a 20-year-old man is injured after a gunfight erupted in a vacant lot in the 5700 block of Terry in north city, police say.

The two victims and a third man were walking into the lot when they got into a verbal argument with three other men, who were sitting on a front porch nearby. Police say the two groups then fired shots at one another.

The man accompanying the two victims was arrested at the scene, and police are looking for the other three men involved in the confrontation, who authorities say were all in their late teens and early 20s.

The 20-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The 18-year-old victim – identified as Paul McCelleary – suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the neck, back and buttocks, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
