Another new election granted because of absentee ballot issues

ST. LOUIS - Rodney Hubbard and Rasheen Aldridge will go head-to-head in a do-over election for the role of the Fifth Ward Democratic Committeeman of St. Louis after issues with absentee ballots were raised once again.

Missouri Circuit Court judge Julian Bush said there were "irregularities of sufficient magnitude to cast doubt on the validity of the August 2 election."

This comes less than a month after Hubbard's wife lost a do-over election to Bruce Franks for Missouri's 78th House District.

Hubbard beat Aldridge by 55 votes — 676-621 — but Aldridge successfully argued that absentee ballots were cast improperly.

The new election will be held on Nov. 8.
