Five mayors endorse Dooley

ST. LOUIS - Five St. Louis mayors expressed their support for Charlie Dooley's re-election Monday evening.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, along with former mayors James Conway, Vince Schoemehl, Freeman Bosley, Jr., and Clarence Harmon, endorsed Dooley at a reception hosted by them in his honor.

Dooley currently serves as St. Louis County Executive and was the first African-American to be elected to St. Louis County Council and the first African-American county executive.

Before his time in office, Dooley served in the US Army and worked at McDonnell-Douglas. He was also a coach and mentor to children.

Dooley's opponent, Steve Stenger, announced Tuesday he has been endorsed by former Sen. Jean Carnahan.
