Intern faints during White House briefing

WASHINGTON - Not your typical first day on the job.

A White House communications intern fainted during press secretary Josh Earnest's briefing Tuesday afternoon. She collapsed 57 minutes into the meeting, bringing it to an abrupt end.

The Hill reports the unidentified intern had been standing for almost an hour, but recovered quickly. Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz brought her a bottle of water soon after her fall.

A White House official told a Huffington Post reporter that Tuesday was the intern's first day.

But she wasn't the only one who was new to the job. Tuesday was Earnest's second day as press secretary.

The intern fainted during a final question about the president's current stance on new protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender workers.
