WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Donald Trump issued a rare apology Friday afternoon after the Washington Post posted a video tape of the Republican presidential nominee joking about kissing and groping women without their permission, and discussing his efforts to have sex with an unnamed married woman star in 2005.
“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump says early in the video. “I did try and f--- her. She was married.”
Trump tells Bush he took the woman furniture shopping as he tried to seduce her.
“I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump says. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony t--s and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”
Trump was married to his third wife Melania at the time the tape was recorded. It is unclear when the events discussed on it occurred.
Later in the tape, Trump can be heard shaking out what he says are tic-tacs, in case, he says, he kisses the soap opera actress he is about to meet.
“And when you’re a star they let you do it,” Trump says. “You can do anything. Grab them by the p---y,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”
Throughout the tape, Bush can be heard bantering with Trump. Access Hollywood and Bush did not initially respond to the Post's story.
Trump's campaign released the following statement from the candidate.
“This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course - not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.”
The first public comment from the Hillary Clinton campaign appears to be an unsigned tweet from Clinton's account.
"This is horrific. We cannot allow this man to become president," the tweet reads, with the Post's story linked below.
