Porch lights around the world shine for Hailey Owens

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – From Pattonville, Mo. to Eugene, Ore. to Germany, people are turning on their porch lights in honor of 10-year-old Hailey Owens, who left a friend's house on Tuesday and never came home.

A Facebook group calls for people to turn on their porch lights to show Hailey's family support. As of 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 60,000 had joined the group.

Posts on the wall indicated that porch lights shone in Hailey's honor in places like Bartlesville, Okla., Lincoln, Neb., Germany and Roanoke, Va.

An Amber Alert was issued for Hailey Tuesday night. On Wednesday, 45-year-old Craig Michael Wood of Ash Grove, Mo. was charged with first degree murder, child kidnapping and armed criminal action after Hailey's body was found in two plastic bags in his basement.
