CHICAGO (AP) - The lights are back on for all but 3,500 Illinois homes and business after this weekend's tornados.
At the height of the outages caused by Sunday's storms, tens of thousands of utility customers were in the dark.
But on Wednesday morning, that figure had dropped to about 3,500.
About 3,000 Ameren Illinois customers were still without power, most of them in the central Illinois region around Peoria, Pekin and hard-hit Washington. Meanwhile, in Northern Illinois, about 500 customers still had no electricity.
